We are the Purdue Chapter, formally known as the “Mother Chapter”, of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). As a student-managed and non-profit STEM organization, our primary mission is to “increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community." Each year, we enact on our mission by providing professional, academic, social and community outreach opportunities to help our members reach their absolute potential as a student, leader and engineer.
2020-2021 Chapter Goals
Our 2020-2021 chapter goals are based primarily on our four chapter directives: Community, Outreach, Relations and Executive Board.
Improve our member retention rate by 30% and membership rate by 20%.
Expand our member’s access to various resources both on and off campus despite challenges with COVID-19.
Improve relations with faculty and professors on campus to broaden the impact that Purdue can have on members within our chapter.
4. Executive Board
Reform the executive board to work more efficiently and cohesively by improving the accountability system and management of important chapter documentation.
