We are the Purdue Chapter, formally known as the “Mother Chapter”, of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). As a student-managed and non-profit STEM organization, our primary mission is to “increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community." Each year, we enact on our mission by providing professional, academic, social and community outreach opportunities to help our members reach their absolute potential as a student, leader and engineer.

2023-2024 Chapter Goals

Our 2023-2024 chapter goals are based primarily on our chapter directives, which is to work towards a B.R.I.G.H.T. future for Purdue NSBE.

Build a home for all minority STEM majors

Reach out to Purdue and the Greater Lafayette community

3. Inspire

Inspire the  next generation of engineers.

4. Growth

Assure sustained Growth professionally and academically for all members.

5. Hands-on

Hands-on opportunities for all members.

6. Trust

Establish Trust and transparency within the chapter
